the dark side of the moon

I am starting to think maybe astronomy is my life calling. Or not, but it is crazy fascinating. Ask me to tell you all about the moon. Or Venus! I have been sorta obsessed with the dark side of the moon lately. Not the Pink Floyd album, but the actual dark-side-of-the moon. The side we never see. The side that has a thicker crust. The side that has this GIANT impact basin called Mare Orientale. I guess the idea that humans only have ever see one side of the moon trips me out when THIS is what the other side looks like. Imagine that in your night sky!

egon schiele

image: egon schiele is probably my favorite aritst. once upon a time I was lucky enough to have a business trip that required a stop over in amsterdam and lucky enough that the van gogh museum had a schiele exhibit at the exact same time. they even had performance artists in nude painted body suits. which reminds me a saw photographs once that were reinterpretations of his paintings. i should find those again. i have been itching to go to europe again.
